Embark on a breathtaking adventure across the majestic Hamta Pass, a high-altitude crossover trek in the Pir Panjal range. Witness a magical transformation of landscapes—from the lush greenery of Kullu Valley to the surreal desert beauty of Lahaul Valley. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned trekkers, this journey promises alpine meadows, pristine rivers, and awe-inspiring Himalayan peaks.
Itinerary
Day 1: Chandigarh to Manali – Drive to Sethan Village – Trek to Chhikka (6 km trek)
Early morning pickup from Chandigarh in a private cab.
Scenic drive to Manali (approx. 8–9 hours). On arrival, continue to Sethan Village—your trek's starting point.
Begin your trek alongside the Alain River, ascending through meadows and thick pine forests.
Trek past Sarotu Thatch, Jabri, and arrive at Chhikka (3,500m)—a serene meadow above the tree line.
Overnight camping in Chhikka amidst alpine wilderness.
Day 2: Chhikka to Ratan Thali via Balu ka Ghera (8 km trek)
After breakfast, continue the trail upstream through enchanting ferns and rhododendrons.
Arrive at Balu ka Ghera, a peaceful glacial basin encircling a pristine lake.
Trek further to Ratan Thali (3,900m), your base camp near the towering peaks of Dharamsura and Papsura.
Camp under the stars, surrounded by glaciers and tranquil silence.
Day 3: Ratan Thali – Hamta Pass – Descent to Chatru (12 km trek)
Today’s the summit day! Start early for a challenging climb to Hamta Pass (4,270m).
From the pass, take in panoramic views: green valleys behind you, and ahead—the dramatic, rugged desert of Lahaul.
Begin your descent toward Chatru through alpine pastures and glacier-fed streams.
Camp by the riverside near the confluence of the Hamta and Chandra Rivers.
Overnight stay at the scenic Chatru campsite.
Day 4: Chatru to Manali via Rohtang Pass
Post breakfast, drive to Manali via the majestic Rohtang Pass.
En route, soak in views of snow-covered mountains and deep valleys.
Check-in at your Manali guesthouse for relaxation and warm hospitality.
Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 5: Manali to Chandigarh – Departure
After breakfast, explore local Manali attractions like Hadimba Temple, Vashisht Hot Springs, or Mall Road.
Later, drive back to Chandigarh with memories of a lifetime.
Drop-off at Chandigarh by evening.
